I wish that I could keep up with posting all my wonderful shoots on my blog. I've been meaning to write about Valerie and Nalu's November 2009 Engagement shoot since it took place last year. Well, I figure, better late than never!
Let's see...back in June 2009 I had the great pleasure of photographing Nalu's younger brother's (Kai) engagement. Remember this cute couple?
You can check out their post at:
Okay, then I shot their wedding in September of 2009. That's another great story I'd love to share with you!
So in November of 2009, it was time for Valerie and Nalu's engagement shoot. We decided to do something more urban which is always a fun scene.
Firstly, please meet our beautiful bride, Valerie:
Secondly, our handsome groom, Nalu:
Thirdly, this beautiful red brick wall that I've always wanted to shoot at! This is where the fun began!
It was a pretty windy day so we used the wind to our advantage.
And there were times that it did die down.
Oh! And in this window was a little doll:
I thought it was so cute and bizarre at the same time so I took a picture of her with our lovely couple!
Okay, enough of this tom foolery...where was I....
A quick change of clothing helped to secure this awesome background with some beautiful natural bounced light!
I love the way Nalu makes Val laugh! So cute!
This next scene was a total GEM of a find! This is what happens when you actually get your feet to transport you to places and you live in Hawai'i! HAWAIIAN!!!
I about fell over when I saw this masterpiece! I shot this same wall months ago during Winnie and Nathan's engagement shoot (another wonderful post to be written) and it was something completely different!!!
The face that you see is our island's King Kalakaua. Isn't this the greatest?? MAHALO NUI LOA to the awesome artist or artists who has shared this for all of us to enjoy!!!
Okay...here we go...
Oh...and I could NOT resist! Nalu - the King of Hearts!!!
And don't you just dig his shirt??? I LOVE that shirt! So perfect for our expedition through China Town!
Gotta love a little bit of flare!
I don't know if you know this but I have this thing about chairs and sofas. So I brought my pink foot stool without knowing that Val is a big fan of everything PINK!
NOTE: MAHALO NUI LOA, Nalu, for being such a sport and carrying this thing all over Chinatown!
Time to wrap this up...
Last shot at about dusk...
MAHALO Val and Nalu for such a fun and exciting Sunday afternoon!
